Recently, the President of the Republic announced through his official account on the social network “X” the issuance of a proposal to increase the current legal minimum wage. Therefore, it is up to the National Minimum Wage Council to analyze and establish it, as one of its main objectives is precisely the periodic review of minimum wages across the various economic sectors.

It has been reported that the proposal aims to increase the current minimum wage by 12%, which would have a significant impact on the national economic dynamics. Consequently, this increase could pose a challenge for companies due to the need to adjust their operating costs, with some sectors being more affected than others. On the other hand, from the workers’ perspective, this measure would represent an increase in their purchasing power, although it is still unknown whether there will be a parallel rise in the prices of goods and services.
