BILL FOR THE SUSPENSION OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST COFFEE GROWERS FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS.

[/vc_column_text][us_separator][vc_column_text]The Agricultural Commission of the Legislative Assembly recently approved a draft decree to be passed to the plenary for analysis regarding the suspension of legal proceedings against coffee growers for a period of three years. The aforementioned draft arises as a consequence of several initiatives by coffee growers' associations in El Salvador and as a means to incentivize participants in the sector. According to reports reported by the Coffee Association of El Salvador, the debt of coffee growers as of January 31, 2021, amounts to USD $220.2 million, additionally taking into consideration that the Decree on the Suspension of Embargo against the sector recently expired. For this reason, it is expected that the bill for the Suspension of Judicial Proceedings against Coffee Growers will be analyzed by the plenary in the coming days.
